Terms and Conditions
The terms on which we arrange appointments and carry out plumbing, heating and gas work.
1. About these terms
These terms apply to plumbing, heating and gas work carried out by WDI Group (Surrey) Ltd, trading through this website as Wimbledon Plumber, registered office SBC House, Restmor Way, Wallington, Surrey, UK. WDI Group (Surrey) Ltd is registered in England and Wales under company number 15560511, VAT registration number 495 8550 36, Gas Safe registration number 968274 and REFCOM certification number REF1021486. We hold £5 million public liability insurance and £5 million employers’ liability insurance.
Submitting the appointment request form is a request, not a confirmed booking. A booking exists only once our team has contacted you and agreed a date and time.
2. Charges
Labour is charged at our published hourly rates. There is a minimum charge of one hour. After the first hour, time is charged in 30-minute increments. All prices exclude VAT. There is no separate call-out charge.
Work expected to take more than two hours will be quoted wherever reasonably possible. Where the scope cannot be established in advance, the engineer will explain the position before continuing.
3. Materials
All materials and parts supplied by us are subject to a 20% mark-up. Time spent collecting materials is charged at the applicable hourly rate, capped at one hour per trade.
Materials supplied by the customer are not covered by our workmanship or product warranty.
4. Quotations and estimates
Fixed-price quotations may be given verbally or in writing before work begins and are valid for the scope described. Additional work discovered on site is chargeable and will be discussed with you first.
Estimates are usually free. Complicated surveys, or appointments involving significant travel or investigation, may be chargeable; any charge will be explained before the appointment is booked.
5. Payment
Full payment is required when the invoice is issued. We accept Visa, Mastercard and other major credit and debit cards, excluding American Express, together with Apple Pay.
6. Access and site conditions
You are responsible for providing safe access to the property and to the appliance or area concerned, and for telling us about known hazards such as asbestos, unsafe flooring or electrical faults.
Where access cannot be provided at the agreed time, the minimum charge may still apply.
7. Gas work
Gas appliance work is carried out only by Gas Safe registered engineers. Where an appliance is found to be immediately dangerous or at risk, the engineer must follow the applicable gas industry procedures, which may include disconnecting or capping the appliance with your permission.
If you smell gas, leave the property and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999.
8. Cancellation
Please tell us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or rearrange. Where you are a consumer booking away from our premises, your statutory cancellation rights apply; if you ask us to start work within the cancellation period, you may be charged for work already carried out.
9. Warranty and liability
We carry out work with reasonable care and skill. Our workmanship warranty does not cover pre-existing defects, customer-supplied materials, fair wear and tear, or subsequent faults elsewhere in the system.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. Complaints and governing law
Please raise any concern with us first at info@wdigroupltd.co.uk or 020 3727 2578 so we can investigate. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
