How a typical repair visit works
On arrival, the engineer will ask what you have noticed and take a look at the affected fitting or pipework before deciding on the best approach. Many common faults, such as a worn tap washer or a loose compression joint, can be resolved during the same visit once the fault has been confirmed.
Where a part needs replacing, the engineer will let you know before starting any work so you understand what is involved and what it is likely to cost.
When a return visit might be needed
Most straightforward plumbing repairs are sorted in a single appointment, but occasionally a specific spare part is not something an engineer carries as standard, particularly with older or discontinued fittings. In those cases, a return visit may occasionally be needed once the correct part has been sourced. We would rather order the right part than fit something unsuitable.
Materials and workmanship
Where we supply materials or parts, these carry a 20% mark-up on cost. If you would prefer to supply your own materials, that is generally possible to discuss with the engineer, though please note that customer-supplied materials are not covered by our workmanship or product warranty.
Landlords and rental properties
For landlords and managing agents, we understand that plumbing repairs in tenanted properties often need to be arranged around a tenant's availability. Let us know at the time of your request if the property is tenanted so this can be factored into arranging access.
What this service costs
Plumbing repairs are charged at £99 + VAT per hour Monday to Friday between 7:30am and 5:00pm, £120 + VAT per hour Monday to Friday between 5pm and 9pm, and £185 + VAT per hour overnight (9pm to 7:30am), on Sundays and on bank holidays.
There is a one-hour minimum charge, after which time is billed in 30-minute increments. All prices exclude VAT and there is no separate call-out charge.
Materials and parts we supply carry a 20% mark-up on cost. Where a job is expected to take longer than the time quoted, the engineer will let you know wherever reasonably possible before continuing.
We accept all major credit and debit cards except American Express, as well as Apple Pay.
